The new Compass Group GT Radial National Distribution Centre was formally opened in October by Mr William Gozali, the Senior export manager of PT Gadjah Tunggal tbk Indonesia. Mr Gozali congratulated Compass on its 18 year success story with the GT Radial brand in the UK.

Compass Group, the exclusive UK and Irish distributor for GT Radial brand car and truck tyres, was the first company in Europe to import GT Radial tyres. The ensuing 17 years has seen Compass grow into GT’s largest and longest established distributor in Europe, with an unsurpassed share of the replacement and OE markets.

The opening ceremony was a real ‘family’ affair, a moment to celebrate a friendship and partnership between GT management and the Compass Group that has gone from strength to strength over so many years. It proves yet again that dedication to one brand and a 100 per cent commitment and loyalty from both sides can produce results.

The 100,000 square foot warehouse and office complex in Huddersfield has of storage space dedicated to GT Radial brand tyres. According to the company, the warehouse holds in excess of 120,000 GT Radial car and truck tyres at any one time in the warehouse, with additional stocks of GT produced tyres in other storage facilities. Regular deliveries are made to all parts of the UK from this central location in the UK using the company’s own fleet of vehicles.

Tim Chesney, the managing director of the Compass Group said: “This is a very exciting milestone for our company and for GT, and it is also a clear statement of our confidence in GT and in the future.”
